Since day one, this game has been nothing but quite an adventure (even though it’s an online game). It’s been one helluva time that is for sure. I think at the beginning it was a little crappy how a lot of people were inactive and not putting a lot of effort into this game. Coming into this game, I knew that I couldn’t stand out but I needed to be a little more social with members on my tribe from the get go. Those were two things of advice I got from playing Borneo and Outback.
Around the start of the game, I quickly formed an alliance with Silas and we called ourselves the “left eye, half smile” alliance - due to the pictures used for us in the banner and as our personal avatars. Once the tribes were announced, the Samburu tribe quickly came together and had one goal in mind (or so I thought) in ‘pagonging’ the Boran tribe. We knew we had an active, strong tribe so it was a good goal to strive to accomplish. I was all about the Samburu Pride.
After the first immunity challenge and tribal council – to all our surprises – the tribes were shuffled every round which made it quite interesting when it came to communicating, who you could trust and forming alliances. I knew my bonds with Silas and Lindsey were going to stay strong throughout so I had ‘nothing to worry about’. At one point in time, I was in the minority. It was four original Borans and three Samburu. (Kim J and Ethan had already left) I was worried that if we lost, one of the Samburu’s would go home. Luckily, I had been speaking with Kelly and tried to cover up the ‘pagonging goal on Boran’ and insisted that an inactive needed to go to make the game fun and that perfect candidate to vote for was Big Tom. Everyone agreed.
Tribes continued to shuffle. Silas had informed me that Linda and Frank were now apart of our alliance, which I wasn’t too thrilled about because I was hoping I could get Lindsey in their some how but no one was really a fan of her so it made it difficult since I had another loyalty to her. I never concreted or promised anything to Linda or Frank, which I made sure of. My main loyalty was to Silas and Lindsey.
Around the fourth tribal council I felt as though Ethan was the wisest target for the mere fact that he had previous votes and if it were a tie, we wouldn’t risk losing a Samburu. Plus a lot of us, including me were actually trying and giving this game their all. Unfortunately due to computer technical difficulties, I ended up self voting (my only time in this game) and Ethan still left. He was the easiest to campaign against at this time.
Still having the mindset of keeping the Samburu’s in the game, by the time the fourth Tribal Council came around – Linda was hard set on getting Teresa out. It was for her own personal gain, however – I didn’t want Teresa gone and I felt that Diane should leave the game (keeping Samburu strong and alive). Linda was convinced she had the numbers so I quickly turned to Carl, who seemed to be on the outskirts and told him the majority was Diane. I then turned to Teresa, told her that the vote was for her and I wanted to save her and if she wanted to stay, vote for Diane. I knew Lindsey would stay true to me so we suddenly had majority and Diane ended up leaving (4-3)
I ended up going to Tribal Council once again; fourth time in a row and Jessie was the only Boran so it just made sense to get her out. Plus at the time I thought Jessie was a huge threat and could dominate at the merge which wouldn’t be good for the loyalties I had. I thought she would leave but both Carl and Lindsey self voted. Brandon also self voted and since Jessie also voted Brandon, he ended up going home. First Samburu out.
The merge had finally arrived. Samburu seven strong with three original Borans. It only seemed wisest to gun for Jessie (she was the strongest out of the Borans).
The Final Nine had arrived, the jury stage. Keeping the Samburu tribe alive, Clarence was the next best bet. I recall wanting Kelly out because she was more active than Clarence but it was only fair and right to have Clarence leave so we could have an active final eight and a more alive jury.
The Final Eight, interesting things began to happen. Samburu wanted to turn more on one another and it was at that stage in the game where it just seemed to make the most sense. This was around the time Lindsey won the one time use idol. I was informed that Linda wanted to separate the two of us because we were close, which we were. I was not happy about this. Since I bid the most on the mystery box, I had won it and was given the choice to pick through all the items. I selected individual immunity to surprise people, just incase I had votes. Lindsey and I managed to demise a plan where we could both play our idols and turn the votes onto Linda (since she at that time was targeting us). I had wanted Linda out for awhile for being such a strategically manipulating player. I admired her for her game play but I knew if I wanted to get farther, she had to go. The plan was executed beautifully and Linda ended up leaving the game.
By that time I was ready to see Kelly leave the game but majority really was gun-ho for getting out Teresa. I felt that Kelly was more of a threat to my game but in the best interest of not sticking out, I had to stick with my loyalties wants at the time and went ahead and voted for Teresa.
Then Carl left, that wasn’t too hard of a vote. I knew Frank, Silas and Kelly really wanted Lindsey to go at the time but she had won immunity (luckily).
The next round was a tough one for me, Final five. The majority really wanted Lindsey gone. I had strong loyalty to Lindsey, just as I had for Silas. However nothing I could do or say would persuade them in not voting for Lindsey – their reasons were valid because she was a challenge threat, I agreed she was but I couldn’t vote for her, I respected her to much as a friend and as a player. I voted Kelly alongside her and stayed loyal with her from the beginning.
After Lindsey left the game, it was crucial for Silas, Frank or I to win the immunity. This would insure that Kelly would leave and that would leave the three of us Samburu's in the final three. Luckily, Silas had won. . . This left the game up in the air. I felt more vulnerable than ever because talk was going around about me and how I played this game and how well liked I am, so I should leave now before I 'win' the season. I had to do something about this. I had to make sure Silas voted for Kelly. I had a feeling that both Frank and Kelly were set on voting me out and I didn't want it to be a tie against Kelly and I. I told Silas that she should Kelly that she should vote for Frank - only for the mere fact that I've proven to suck in challenges and I'd be easier to beat in the final three - Frank could come out of no where after no 'proving' himself in the game. He told Kelly that and Kelly bought every last word of it that he said to her. I knew the game was moving in a better direction and more hope was coming into play for me. Kelly left and I still remained in the game.
That left the three of us: Silas, Frank and myself.
